Purpose:

Plan International Jordan is seeking an experienced reporting agency to cover the reporting and developing policy paper for the national ECD conference

The Organisation

  • confront and challenge discrimination and human rights violations based on gender. This includes gender-based violence and other forms of exclusion.
  • challenge stereotypes and unequal power relations between women, men, boys, and girls to promote gender equality, girls’ rights, and inclusion.
  • foster an organisational culture that embraces and exemplifies our commitment to gender equality, girls’ rights and inclusion, while supporting staff to adopt good practices, positive attitudes and the principles of gender equality and inclusion.

The national ECD conference goal is Promoting the importance of early childhood sector in Jordan by investing in the recommendations of the economic modernization vision, and presenting the reality of the early childhood situation in Jordan with an emphasis on its main pillars (early education, health and nutrition, Parenting, and protection), in addition to highlighting the role of the National ECD Team and the role of local, national and international institutions in the care and development of early childhood in Jordan.

Conference Objectives:

  • Identify the reality of early childhood development in Jordan, to get recommendations and priorities for early childhood during the next three years based on the experiences and successes that have been achieved.
  • Exchanging expertise and experiences in the early childhood sector represented by its main pillars (parenting, health and nutrition, protection, early education) at the national level, and feeding it by benefiting from regional and international experiences.
  • Presenting the most important achievements, challenges, studies and projects related to the development of early childhood in Jordan.
  • Examples: success stories with institutionalized programs, within the last 5 years, early childhood achievement videos, sustainability success stories... Recommendations, etc.
  • Introducing the objectives and role of the National ECD Team
  • Introduce early childhood programs in Jordan within different sectors

Position Accountabilities

The Reporter will be responsible for:

  1. Attend the conference (two days) and write a full report covering all conference parts (Opening, presentations, breakout rooms, closing) in both Arabic and English. The conference will start with the opening in the big hall gathering everyone, then they will be distributed into 3 breakout rooms to discuss the different aspects of the early childhood in Jordan in relation to the following main pillars: (Early education, Health and nutrition, Protection and parenting)
  2. Develop a summery of the conference including recommendations besides the full report taking in addition to presentation in both languages (Arabic and English).
  3. Develop a policy paper

Time line: The National ECD Conference Reporter shoulddeliver all in 22 December 2022

Key relationships

  • The post-holder will report to the senior Project Manager. He/She will coordinate closely with the relevant staff.

Technical expertise, skills and knowledge

Essential

  • Reporting experience.
  • Excellent English and Arabic written skills.
  • Awareness of early childhood development terms.
