Under the overall guidance and supervision of the Country Director, the Monitoring and Evaluation Officer main responsibility is to support the effective and efficient management and implementation of the UNDP Mexico CO project portfolio through driving development results planning, monitoring, evaluation and reporting in line with corporate requirements, as well as country development needs and planning tools.
The incumbent will ensure that proper monitoring and evaluation are carried out at outcome level and will provide input to improve results based management tools such as results framework, indicators, capturing lessons learned. The Monitoring and Evaluation Officer will also provide support the reporting activities to ensure that reports cover impact/outcome/ output levels and strategic information on results and impact of interventions.
The Monitoring and Evaluation Officer works closely with program and project team on providing substantive technical expertise on results framework, indicators identification, evidence-based monitoring, planning, reporting and evaluation management and overseeing. The M&E Officer supports the CO on the planning, monitoring and evaluation of programmes and projects, to ensure evidence based, results-focus and quality interventions. S/He supports the design and implementation of the CO monitoring systems, data collection methods, evaluations and advises on the indicators identification and the collection of reliable, accurate and coherent information to assess the performance and impact of programmes and projects. S/He also supports CO teams in preparing end of year Results-Oriented Annual Reports (ROARs) against set targets and indicators on the Corporate Planning System, with an analysis of evidence of progress towards planned outcomes and outputs according to schedules and inputs provided through the UNDP assistance and support.

Master’s Degree or equivalent in International Relations, Political Science, Economics or related social sciences.
Up to five years of relevant experience in international development issues. Strong experience in monitoring and evaluation with a background and interest in the analysis of socio-economic issues and related policy matters. Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages, experience in handling of web based management systems.
Fluency in Spanish and English
