Position Overview\n\n

The Mekong Campaign Director spearheads ERI's\ncampaign efforts at the Mekong regional level, ensuring they align with and\nadvance the organization's principles, mission, and vision. They oversee the\ndevelopment and execution of campaign strategies and implementation plan in\ncollaboration with the Mekong Legal Director. They lead coordination with ERI's\nconstituents and partners in the Mekong region, assessing and recommending\nactivities relevant to ERI's focus issues and geographic priorities.  \n\n

Key Responsibilities\n\n

 ●    \nLead a team of highly capable campaigners and policy advocates\ntoward achievement of EarthRights' strategic plan goals.\n\n

    \nManage day-to-day operations of the Mekong campaigns program,\nincluding resource allocation and budget management.\n\n

    \nOversee the development, implementation, and integration of\ncampaign and advocacy strategies according to strategic plan goals and\nEarthRights' theory of change.\n\n

    \nLead coordination with ERI's constituencies, partners, and\nstakeholders in the Mekong region.\n\n

    \nSupport the Mekong countries region and advise on curriculum and\nrecruitment strategies for training programs as needed.\n\n

    \nCoordinate regional and global technical support for the Mekong\nteam and represent EarthRights publicly in meetings and the media.\n\n

    \nCollaborate with the Communications department to oversee media\nactivities in Mekong countries and approve program materials and publications.\n\n

    \nMaintain relationships with alumni partners in the Mekong region\nand facilitate training, workshops, and alumni-focused initiatives.\n\n

    \nEnsure monitoring, evaluation, and learning processes inform\nprogram improvements and decision-making.\n\n

    \nCollaborate on developing grant proposals, funding reports, and\nprovide monthly program updates.\n\n

Accountability\n\n

The Mekong\nCampaign Director is directly accountable for the following:\n\n

       \nSuccessful implementation and completion of Mekong campaign program\nobjectives.\n\n

       \nEfficient and responsible utilization of resources, including\nbudget, personnel, and time.\n\n

       \nA well-coordinated and effective team that consistently adheres to\norganizational policies, practices, and procedures.\n\n

       \nStrong relationships and partnerships with ERI's constituencies and\npartners in the Mekong region.\n\n

       \nIncreased impact of ERI's campaigns, aligned with the\norganization's principles, mission, and vision.\n\n

       \nEnhanced outreach and advocacy efforts related to EarthRights'\nfocus issues and geographical priority areas.\n\n

       \nA secure work environment with well-coordinated risk mitigation\nplans, and with utmost regard for the security and safety of team members and\npartners.\n\n

\n\n

Competencies and Qualifications \n\n

       \nDegree in a relevant field and/or\nequivalent experience required.\n\n

       \nMinimum 6 years of experience in\nrelevant field or at least 8 years of experience implementing campaigns and\npolicy advocacy strategies with human rights and environmental rights\norganizations.\n\n

       \nProven experience managing and\nleading programs, including planning, delivery, risk management, financial\nmanagement, budgeting, networking, monitoring, evaluation, and learning.\n\n

       \nDemonstrated experience using\ncampaigning strategies to demand corporate accountability, with a strong\nunderstanding of Business and Human Rights concepts.\n\n

       \nAt least 3 years of experience in\npeople management.\n\n

       \nKnowledge of the context of the\nMekong region, with a\nbackground in environmental and human rights or community organizing work in\nthe region.\n\n

       \nExcellent cross-cultural\ncommunication skills and experience working with diverse groups, especially\nfrom Southeast Asia.\n\n

       \nAbility to research, analyze, and\nrespond to emerging contexts and trends, with high attention to detail and\nquality.\n\n

       \nStrong computer and digital\nskills, particularly in Microsoft Office.\n\n

       \nExperience in resource\nmobilization, donor relationship management, and working laboratively with\ngrassroots community movements, organizations, and international NGOs.\n\n

       \nFluency in English, with knowledge\nof a language spoken in the Mekong region preferred.\n\n

       \nDemonstrated understanding of\ngender and social inclusion issues in the Mekong countries and the ability to\nintegrate them into development approaches.\n\n

       \nMust be based or willing to\nrelocate to Chiang Mai, Thailand\n\n
