Our Birmingham, UK Humanitarian Academy for Development (HAD) Office is actively recruiting for the position of ‘Marketing Coordinator’.

Serving the Humanitarian and International Development Sector and its parent Islamic Relief Worldwide - HAD collects, coordinates and delivers compelling HAD in action content and messaging around the globe to promote the training, research and talent development services HAD offers to retain existing customers and attract new customers. The Division leverages digital platforms, public relations, events and the media, all in line with HAD’s vision, mission and strategy. It is envisioned to be a hub where humanitarian and development theories and practice are studied, examined and developed.

The role will involve producing a wide range of marketing material including video, info-graphics, leaflets, brochures, info packs, banners, and other publications. Some of these may need to be designed/developed in-house, and some will need to be outsourced, so finding the right source and following up on the production process is an essential part of the role.

The post holder will be responsible for the coordination and direct implementation of HAD marketing plans to meet agreed HAD objectives. The main function of the role is to continue maintaining and building HAD brand globally to support income generation by different departments within HAD. The post holder will also be responsible for the digital marketing of HAD (including e-marketing, content production as well as online and social media).

The successful candidate will be expected to provide marketing support to all HAD departments as and when needed.

The successful candidate must have or be:

  • Bachelors degree in marketing/communications or related
  • Graphic designing and social media experience
  • Good understanding of current digital marketing concepts, strategy and best practice
  • Understanding of market segmentation, market data and data analysis
  • Ability to work flexibly and with minimum supervision
  • Excellent coordination and resource investigation skills
  • Copywriting skills
  • Ability to translate plans to actions and measurable deliverables
  • Excellent communication skills and good writing and proofreading ability – English
  • Strong analytical skills in order to analyse and interpret information and make recommendations for improved results
  • Able to meet multiple project deadlines and demonstrate good attention to detail
  • Good presentation skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Photoshop and web editing packages
  • Solid project management skills, often have multiple projects running at the same time
  • Ability to gather large amounts of data and convert it into meaningful analysis
  • Ability to comprehend and interpret competitor strategies and consumer behaviour
  • Experience in communicating in a multi-cultural environment
