Organizational Setting

 

Logistic Assistant works under the overall supervision of the WHO Representative in Myanmar, the technical guidance of the Medical Officer (HIV & Hepatitis) in collaboration with the National AIDS Programme (NAP) and Drug Dependency Treatment and Research Unit.

 

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Keep track of all items incoming as well as outgoing for the central warehouse for regular updating of inventory and expiry; Ensure all logistic data are recorded and updated regularly with standard forms and formats or software;
  • Assist NAP PSM focal in preparing quarterly stock reports to submit to central level and donors in time as well as informing stock balance and expiry to monitor the supply chain 
  • Prepare the stock data for forecasting and quantification of commodities for procurement and assist NAP PSM focal in this process
  • Keep the central warehouse systematically according to Standard Operation Procedure
  • Assist to review the requirements of respective sub-depot/transit camps and prepare the commodities to transport for uninterrupted supply 
  • Undertake field visits as advised by NAP PSM focal to sub-depot/transit camps/project townships in order to assist in proper logistic management of stores according to SOP and checklist
  • Work together with WHO field offices as a team for effective assistance to NAP PSM Unit
  • Perform other relevant duties as may be assigned by the supervisor
  • To submit assignment report quarterly

     

    Work Relations and Partnerships

     

    Logistic Assistant provides technical support to National AIDS Programme and Drug Dependency Treatment and Research Unit. He/she needs to coordinate with focal from NAP, UN agencies, development partners, and implementing partners. He/she works together with Field project Coordinator/Field Assistant/Data Assistant of respective state/region and Central Project Coordinators/M&E team from central as a team. He/she works as a part of WHO HIV-AIDS team in achieving goals of National Strategic Plan of HIV in collaboration with different stakeholders working on HIV/AIDS.

     

    Impact of functions

    The function plays a key role in strengthening the procurement and supply chain management system of HIV/AIDS prevention and control programme.  The support to NAP will contribute in improving health care services by providing uninterrupted supply and systematic warehouse management. 

     

    Qualifications

     

    Educational background

    Essential: Completion of secondary school education

    Desirable: Relevant university degree and training in supply chain management/ store keeping would be an asset

     

    Professional experience and knowledge

     

    Essential: Minimum of two years working experience in supply management

    Desirable: Working experience with UN, International/Local NGOs

     

    Language Skills: Knowledge of spoken and written English and Myanmar Language
