KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting to the Project Manager, the Livelihoods Specialist will lead on the vocational training of 600 participants and support their access to employment. Responsibilities will include:
Lead on the conduction of business engagement surveys in each of the target locations in order to engage employers and the private sector.
Creating and/or tailoring a series of vocational training curricula for 40-day vocational training for 600 beneficiaries, designed to address the skills gaps and market needs identified by the abovementioned assessment.
Train and oversee a team of 12 Vocational Trainers that will deliver vocational skills training in 4 different locations.
Travel between project implementation locations in Anbar (Qaim & Habaniyah), Salah al Din (Tooz Khormato) and Ninewa (Muhalabiyah) ensuring smooth delivery of training.
Visit and develop a rapport with businesses who expressed their interest in the job placement scheme during the above mentioned survey.
Organise jobs fairs in each of the target locations whereby potential employers can meet course participants jointly with the Project Manager.
Where the jobs fairs are unable to match participants with employers, handle participants on a bespoke, case-by-case basis to arrange their work placements.
Provide follow up and reporting on progress.
