ERIM (IREX Europe doing business as ERIM) is a not-for-profit organisation based in Lyon, France. We provide innovative programmes to support human rights and strengthen independent media and media education. ERIM’s approach emphasizes on partnerships with local development organisations to expand their capacity, build sustainable institutions and affect change through training, partnerships, education, research and grant programmes.

ERIM is looking for a Junior Project Manager to work with our team in implementing media development, media and information literacy, civil society and human rights programmes around the world and particularly in Eastern Partnership Countries (EaP). The position is Lyon-based, with potential for travel.

Responsibilities:

· Contribute to project monitoring and evaluation, reporting and project tracking

· Compile and analyze information for monthly and quarterly reporting

· Provide support to project managers in administrative tasks, including grants monitoring, contracts, events organisation and procurements drafting

· Support project managers in financial monitoring, including preparation of audits

· Participate in selection processes with the project managers and local partners

· Contribute to communication by writing and collecting short success stories and short project updates

· Identify, research and develop new opportunities and applications for funding within ERIM’s mandate and using ERIM’s specific skills and capacities

Essential criteria:

· Bachelors or Masters degree in a relevant field of study (law, human rights, development, social studies, international relations, media, communication, journalism, etc.) and/or the equivalent combination of education and work experience.

· At least one year experience in international project management in the fields of civil society development, human rights promotion, media development and/or media and information literacy.

· Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

· Flexibility to work on different projects

· Willingness to travel internationally and work on a flexible schedule.

· Strong team spirit and communication skills

· Excellent computer skills (Word, Powerpoint, Excel)

· Fluency in written and spoken English and French

· The right to live and work in France is mandatory

The following criteria will be considered a plus:

· Understanding of the civil society and/or media landscape in Eastern Partnership countries

· Knowledge of Media Information and Literacy

· Proven previous experience in grant monitoring and service contract design and writing

· Knowledge of Russian or other Eastern European languages

The contract will be a 6 months CDD, with a 1-month probation period.

The starting salary is the current Government fixed minimum wage (SMIC), 37 hours per week, with 100% health insurance and 100% public transports covered, flexible working hours and up to 2 days working from home allowed.
