IT Local Support Consultant at the Country Office in Suriname (ITO/CSU)

Background of this search:

The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) consists of 26 country offices throughout Latin America and the Caribbean. The ITE department has the need of a consultancy to provide and maintain a reliable and efficient IT environment at the Country Office (Representation) in Suriname.

The Information Technology Department (ITE) is committed to enable the mission of the Bank of improving lives by delivering value to the business through technologic solutions in the Headquarters and the Representations, including infrastructure and services.

What you’ll do:

  • Provide end-user support to the IDB Group personnel located at the Representation in Suriname, to maximize the exploitation of the IT tools (hardware, software, connectivity, training, etc.).
  • Assist on the maintenance of the IT Infrastructure, including workstations, servers, videoconference, telecommunications, and local providers.
  • Collaborate on the implementation of new initiatives working as a link with other IT areas.
  • Ensure the operational documentation is up to date and properly registered in tickets, reports, dashboards, etc. as corresponds.

    What you’ll need:

    • Citizenship: You are a citizen of the Republic of Suriname, or a citizen of one of our 48-member countries with residency or legal permit to work in Suriname.
    • Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB Group.
    • Education: Bachelor´s degree in Computer Science or related fields, or equivalent years of professional work experience. Knowledge in MS Windows 10, MS O365, communication platforms, mobile devices (Android/iOS), MS Active Directory, VMWare/VDI and workstations maintenance. Desirable knowledge of ITIL processes for incident, service request and knowledge management. Certification is a plus. Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 and continuous improvement frameworks is a plus.
    • Experience: At least 2 years of experience on the IT field. Experience in customer support activities. Experience in Project Management, based on the PMI standard is a plus.
    • Languages: Fluency in English. Knowledge of Spanish is a plus.

      • General knowledge to work with servers, network, telecommunication, audiovisual equipment, and office assets (scanners, printers, copiers).
      • Excellent written, verbal, and corporal communication skills.
      • Willing to learn and keep doing it continuously.
      • Empathy and active listening.
      • Proactivity and creativity are a plus.

        Opportunity Summary:

        • Type of contract: Full Time Consultant (CNS).
        • Length of contract: 12 months. (Extensible up to 36 months based on performance).
        • Location: Paramaribo, Suriname.
        • Responsible person: IT Specialist.
        • Requirements: You must be a citizen of one of the IDB’s 48 member countries and have no family members currently working at the IDB Group
