ReDI School of Digital Integration is a non-profit digital school working to empower vulnerable communities through digital education. Our kids and youth program in Duisburg aims at accelerating the social and cultural integration of youth in marginalised sectors by sharpening their 21st-century skills. Through a combination of fun and playful approaches with innovative teaching methods, the students will become curious about technology (coding and robotics), improve their empathy and learn how to collaborate.
About the role
Your main responsibility will be to make sure that the whole technical infrastructure (hardware and software) needed for the school courses is ready, to maintain it, to track its assets, and to implement new technical solutions when needed.
- Technical troubleshooter for all IT hardware and software problems
- Supports students, teachers and colleagues with any IT related issue
- Creates documentation and ensure information distribution about common issues
- Implements database based asset tracking system
- Develops overall hardware strategy
- Maintain and extend the disk image deployment infrastructure
- Setup operating systems and applications as required for the courses
- Integrate drivers for different laptop models
- Capture and deploy disk images to large quantities of laptops
- Coordinates with team and teachers regarding software requirements
About you
- Fluency in German and English
- Empathetic and service-minded
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Organised and structured
- Passionate about IT infrastructure and hardware
- Experience with configuring firewalls and network services
- Knows how to set up, patch and maintain Windows (desktop)
- Hardware troubleshooting experience
- Experience in customizing PC Booting: BIOS/UEFI, PXE, GRUB/Clover EFI
- Desirable: Windows scripting (Powershell, VBScript, CMD)
- Desirable: Experience with maintaining and extending relational database based applications (e.g. based Microsoft Access or Salesforce)
