How can you make a difference?

UNICEF is seeking qualified IT Assistant at the GS-5 level in the Global Shared Services Centre in Budapest, Hungary to restore normal service to users as quickly as possible, fix technical faults, fulfil service requests, answer queries and provide other support as needed to allow users to continue working. 

The IT Assistant serves as the point of contact between Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and users/Customers in all UNICEF locations for all matters related to ICT service provisioning.

Key functions/accountabilities:   

Provide ICT applications support

Maintain user accounts and Segregation of duties (SOD) compliance through provisioning, de-provisioning and roles assignments in Vision ERP and IRC. Ensure enforcement of applicable SAP system security configuration parameters. Provide technical support, customization, content management, and permissions management for SharePoint teamsites. Prepare various reports including statistical reports on systems access, escalation/exceptions reports, audit reports, and critical transaction reports in Vision ERP and Approva.

Provide first-line technical or business support

Act as single point-of-contact Single point of contact (SPoC) for ICT issues. Ensure service requests and tasks are recorded and appropriately dispatched to the responsible work group(s). Ensures Help Desk processes and procedures, with particular emphasis on technical issues/administration processes and procedures categorized per system, are well documented and updated.

Education:

Completion of Secondary education (high school degree) is required.

 

Experience:

5 years of relevant work experience in Information Technology (IT) is required. A completed university degree from an accredited institution will be counted towards the minimum work experience requirements.  Experience in dealing with Customer Support and Services is required University level courses in computer science, information systems, engineering, telecommunications, or equivalent qualifications are desirable. Advanced knowledge in the Microsoft Suite of Products (including Word, Excel and PowerPoint) Experience with a development organization is an asset Fluency in English (verbal and spoken) required Knowledge of an additional UN Language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish), or local language of the duty station, is considered an asset
