The ILO is issuing a call for expression of interest for the above position. This is an assignment of a purely temporary nature, not expected to lead to a career in the ILO. Duration is 12 months non renewable.

The selection process is not subject to the rules and procedures defined in Annex I of the ILO Staff Regulations

The following are eligible to apply:

- Internal candidates in accordance with paragraphs 31 and 32 of Annex I of the Staff Regulations. The Office will facilitate the temporary re-assignment of a selected internal candidate to this position.

- External candidates. A selected external candidate will be issued with a 4.2 (e) contract.

Staff members with at least five years of continuous service with the Office are encouraged to apply and will be given special consideration at the screening and evaluation stage.

Department

The ILO Department for Multilateral Cooperation (MULTILATERALS) is situated in the Field Operations and Partnerships Portfolio. MULTILATERALS role is to lead, coordinate and promote the ILO's active involvement in the UN System and cooperation with other multilateral organizations. A particular focus of the work of the Department is active engagement on promoting decent work within the framework of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Managed under Outcome A of the Programme and Budget 2022/23, this work is undertaken in the context of the 2019 ILO Centenary Declaration as well as the Global Call to Action for a Human-centred Recovery from the COVID-19 Crisis, adopted in June 2021.

Learning area

Education

MSC in international relations, development studies or related field. The candidate should be enrolled in their final year of graduate degree programme or should have completed such a programme no longer than 1 years ago.

Experience

Work experience in multilateral cooperation or international development and in capacity building would be an advantage.

Languages

Working knowledge of English, knowledge of another one of the ILO’s official languages an advantage.

Competencies

Adaptable to an international, multicultural and multilingual environment, good communication skills and be able to work in a team.
