And we never give up.

For every child, childhood

UNICEF in Burundi collaborates with government, non-government organizations, the private sector, and individuals to ensure that the most vulnerable women and children have access to services and protection across a variety of program areas such as health, nutrition, education, child protection, WASH, social policy. Our objective is to ensure that every child in Burundi, irrespective of gender, disability, background or circumstance, has an equal chance to fulfil their potential.

To deliver key results for children, it is essential to have a positive work environment that promotes employee wellbeing, productivity, growth and embraces our values of Care, Respect, Integrity, Trust, Accountability and Sustainability.

The results from the Global Staff Survey of 2020 and the last Pulse Survey in June 2022 revealed that the Country Office needs to continue taking preventive and corrective actions to improve its working environment and the office’s culture with the aim of promoting a more inclusive, open and truly diverse working environment.

An extensive internal process was conducted through a participatory approach that led to the development of an action plan and the establishment of a committee with the main objective of improving staff well-being and developing strategies for inclusive interventions.

Trust in the senior management                      Trust  in the supervisor Work-life harmony Psychological safety and trust Standards of Conduct Performance management Appreciation and recognition Inclusion and belonging Empowerment Internal communication
