Mercy Corps is a leading global organization powered by the belief that a better world is possible. In disaster, in hardship, in more than 40 countries around the world, we partner to put bold solutions into action — helping people triumph over adversity and build stronger communities from within. Now, and for the future.
Mercy Corps Europe (MCE) has grown rapidly both in terms of the volume of activity and its complexity and we are now looking for an ambitious IFO to join our team. All the financial stages of our grant management, from proposal development and initial budgeting to compliance and final reporting, are managed by our IFOs and wider International Finance team. IFOs typically have a geographical portfolio containing projects from a variety of European donors with differing durations, compliance requirements and reporting needs.
This is an opportunity to be involved in finance work that is fast-paced and varied, and to be part of a diverse, dedicated team of people who are genuinely motivated by making a difference. You will be someone with a positive, can-do approach, who enjoys the pressure of working together as a team to tight deadlines. Strong communication skills are vital, as you will be operating in a truly international environment, partnering with colleagues in Europe, the US and in our Field teams around the world. The successful candidate should ideally possess a Degree in Accounting or Finance, be a part-qualified accountant or qualified by experience.
Note: We are also able to consider applications from more experienced individuals at a Senior International Finance Officer level, however we would be looking for experience in the international development sector in this case.
The role is based at our European HQ in the centre of Edinburgh, with all of the culture, diversity and history that the city has to offer.
Closing date: Candidates will be considered on a rolling basis.
Candidates must have the right to work in the UK.**
