Integration and Trade Sector Communications Content Writer/Creator Consultant

We are looking for a dynamic and innovative communications writer and creator who will help us change people lives in Latin America and the Caribbean.

The consultant will assist the Integration and Trade Sector's (INT) communications department with administrative tasks related to communication. He will also work with the Knowledge, Innovation, and Communications Sector (KIC) to ensure that the Sector's Communications Work Program and communication strategies for internal and external clients and stakeholders are successfully implemented, including metrics to measure success and impact. The consultant will help us expand our digital footprint, drive more value through online content, and produce pieces that increase engagement and drive leads. The job requires a high level of creativity and the ability to use data-driven insights to write better material. The consultant should also be detail-oriented and committed to meeting tight deadlines.

What you’ll do:

  • Contribute to the creation of content that successfully attracts, engages, and educates audiences by writing powerful and concise short-form copy for press releases, publication announcements, email, ads, web copy, video scripts, and other materials that illustrate the scope, relevance, outcomes and impact of the Sector’s activities.
  • Guide and oversee appropriate messaging, style, and context for communications deliverables to support the overall communications strategy.
  • Support the implementation of the annual Sector’s Communications Strategy and Work Program in coordination with the Communications Coordinator and in compliance with KIC’s standards, guidelines, and policies.
  • Propose new digital formats to disseminate the Sector’s publications and knowledge.
  • Assistance with proofreading knowledge products and communication pieces produced within the Sector as necessary, including books, monographs, working papers, policy briefs, brochures, social media outputs, etc.
  • Support, together with INT’s communications coordinator and the corporate communications business partner, the management of the Sector’s website and the production/update of its content.
  • Support the development of video scripts for INT’s Manager social media channels and their use in corporate social media outlets, together with INTs communications coordinator and KIC’s business partner.
  • Assist in preparing content pieces needed to support Sector’s fora and related activities.
  • Advise INT’s Communications Coordinator in our collaborative work with KIC and other coordination areas to develop and implement the Sector’s communications work program to disseminate key Sector priorities and messages clearly and effectively.
  • Review, advise, and update the Sector’s communication metrics and key performance indicators that measure the effectiveness of communication channels and activities and seek ways to improve and innovate.
  • Assist in the development of communications strategies for key thematic areas to target priority populations and improve the dissemination of products such as publications, data and fora
  • Interact with KIC to optimize the use of the Bank’s new contact database (CRM) to position the Sector’s products and increase its exposure.

    Deliverables:

    • Writing/editing/proofreading of knowledge products and communication pieces produced by the Sector as needed, such as e-mail marketing and e-newsleter pieces, brochures, social media outputs, video scripts, and so on.
    • Follow-up to activities and deliverables established in INT's annual work plan with KIC
    • Research, create, and write high-quality articles, op-eds, video and web stories to be published on IDB media platforms.
    • Proofreading of books, monographs, working papers, technical notes and policy briefs.
    • Report the Sector’s communication metrics and key performance indicators in order to measure the effectiveness of communication channels.

        What you’ll need:

        • Citizenship: You are a citizen of one of our 48-member countries.
        • Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB Group.
        • Education: Master’s degree related to the job position tasks or the equivalent in years of experience.
        • Experience: at least 5 years of experience offering communication services, corporate relations, branding, dissemination and marketing strategies, or related topics.
        • Languages: Proficiency in English and Spanish is a must.
