Information Security Specialist

NIB is making substantial progress in its transition to cloud-based technologies for its IT infrastructure and at the same time updating our security to match tomorrow’s needs. This transformation involves the adoption of numerous new technologies, applications, and acronyms. To strengthen the team, we are actively seeking an Information Security Specialist to join our existing team of six dedicated professionals in the IT Infrastructure team.

The IT Infrastructure team holds the responsibility for overseeing the network, M365 platform, outsourced data centers, Azure Platform, security and various other critical components. We also bear the operational duty to ensure the seamless daily functioning of these systems. Information Security is a top priority for the Bank, and our team is tasked with delivering robust technical IT security for the entire NIB IT environment.

The Information Security Specialist is tasked with overseeing various aspects within the IT domain, including operational information security. This encompasses security monitoring, incident response, and the enhancement of security measures. The specialist is accountable for contributing to the security operations of the NIB, focusing on the development and refinement of security controls. Additionally, the role requires close collaboration with both the second and third lines of defence to guarantee the effectiveness of the Bank's information security processes and controls.

Main responsibilities:

Follow and refine information security processes and practices, following NIB’s instructions, guidelines and policies.

Implement and improve technical security controls to protect the Bank’s operations.

Participate in vulnerability identification and mitigation activities; conduct security testing in the information security area, coordinate vulnerability finding mitigations, and maintain the status of open items.

Monitor operational and tactical threat and event information, keeping the Bank’s assets, operations, and vendors in mind; work with the outsourced SOC on event investigations.

Support ServiceDesk with end-user security guidance and security issues.

Support DevSecOps process with security knowledge and advice.

Participate in information security risk assessments and audits, providing insight into security risks and controls.

Participate in projects, providing security knowledge as needed.

Maintain professional knowledge of current threats, developments, and best practices within information security; communicate openly with the Bank.

Qualifications and Experience:

A Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, cyber/information security or other relevant discipline.

At least 2 years of relevant cyber/information security experience.

Experience with Microsoft technologies, Microsoft security stack, Azure cloud, Active Directory is required.

Experience in banking, finance, or other high-security industries is a plus.

Understanding and experience in Network (security) technologies is considered a plus.

Understanding of quality and security management system implementations, maintenance, and development, such as ISO 27001, ISO 9001, ITIL, or a similar standardized approach, is considered beneficial.

Professional certifications, e.g., Microsoft SC and AZ-series, are a plus.

Good command of the English language. Skills in Finnish or Swedish languages is considered an asset.
