ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT
The Information Management Associate assists in the production and dissemination of information on the population of concern, including but not limited to Protection and Programme information.
The incumbent operationalizes data standards developed at the central level in field operations, compiles and explores data from all populations of concern. S/he supports the Programme Team and UNHCR's implementing partners in the choice of indicators for monitoring to be included in sub-agreements as well as the Protection Team in operationalizing protection monitoring systems.

OPERATIONAL CONTEXT
The incumbent of this position will be based at the Regional UNHCR Bureau for the Americas in Panama City, Panama. Working under the supervision of the Senior Information Management Officer, the Information Management Associate will provide support on all information management matters of the Americas region.
As such, the incumbent should have demonstrated information or data management skills, particularly in the field of data processing & visualization, assessment & analysis of needs of persons of concern to UNHCR.
To undertake this, the candidate should be able to demonstrate an ability to learn and adapt previous skills to humanitarian information management processes and standards, such as statistical reporting, needs assessments and the development of data collection tools. An ability to support the development and dissemination of Standard Operating Procedures and guidelines on information management processes, as well as a demonstrated ability to work with complex quantitative and qualitative data. This includes working with UNHCR offices and partners across the Americas region to support the development of harmonized data collection systems and timely delivery of standardized information products such as maps and data visualizations.
In his/her engagement with partners, the Information Management Associate will need to liaise regularly with stakeholders and support in the development and provision of technical advice to information management focal points, and to non-technical persons. As such, an ability to communicate complex technical information management needs and processes to non-technical management and functional units, in English and Spanish, in speech and writing, will be a key requirement.
The candidate will work as part of UNHCR¿s Information and Identity Management team and work with Communication, Coordination, Protection, External Engagement, Senior Management as well as regional stakeholders based in Panamá City.
