About the Role

The Impact and Training Manager is an important leadership role at myAgro. It's part of the Agriculture team and reports to the Regional Impact and Training Manager. The role is essential to ensuring that we are delivering the highest quality of inputs and services possible to our farmers. With our plans to increase our impact with farmers, this is a crucial role to the team.

  • You will work at scale. In one month you might hire 40 agriculture trainers who then need to recruit and train 400 seasonal agents. You'll manage large-scale program and care about the details without getting overwhelmed. You'll implement quality controls to ensure quality of program execution.
  • You will collaborate. Your work will touch many different teams. You'll coordinate across departments and can get agreement on work plans and calendars.
  • You will focus on the end-users. You will design trainings, products, and trials starting from the end-users: both farmers and field staff.
  • You will be a project and people manager. From project management to delegation and coaching, you have the tools in your tool-belt to oversee this role and the projects that come with it. You'll make your team and those around you better.

While you will be part of the Agriculture team you don't need to be an agronomist. We have experts on the team and within our network that you will work with. The magic ingredient of this role is that you're user-focused, an excellent project manager, and curious. You have a passion for learning about agriculture, life sciences, and working with farmers to make a difference.

Responsibilities include the following (not exhaustive):

Manage agriculture programs

  • Implement agriculture training programs in collaboration with the sales team to promote successful planting for farmers. These training programs are a mix of training channels: trainings in group, video, flyers, radio, and call center.
  • Listen to farmers and work with local R&D team members to inform trials, pilots and package design centered around 'design for the farmer, with the farmer'.
  • Design, test and improve training models to lower costs and increase farmer reach/impact so myAgro can provide training sustainably as we grow

Manage the agriculture team

  • Manage the country-based agriculture field teams, including creating quality training materials, developing work plans, reviewing work deliverables, and providing value-added feedback.
  • Set up performance indicators and data management systems to inform decision-making.

Is this the Role for You?

  • You have 5 years of prior management experience – preferably including background in scaling and expanding programs.
  • You have developed training programs for rural areas.
  • You have held a position on the crossroads between multiple departments.
  • You speak English and French fluently

Our Benefits:

  • Approximately 4 weeks of paid time off each year - varies slightly according to local labor laws
