The Position:

The Humanitarian Coordinator is responsible for ensuring effective and efficient coordination, programmatic and operational support to UNFPA humanitarian programming, and response to support UNFPA cross-border team in Gaziantep. The incumbent will manage a cross-functional team that will ensure the provision of quality and timely Sexual Reproductive Health (SRH) and Gender Based Violence (GBV) services and will promote SRH and GBV prevention during emergency response planning and implementation, during donors and inter-agency meetings, and provides oversight technical support and institutional and programmatic capacity building provision to partners.

The Humanitarian Coordinator/Head of Office will report directly to the UNFPA Türkiye Representative, particularly on administrative and operational matters, and will work in close coordination and collaboration with the Head of Syria Regional Response Hub on all programme and technical matters.

Qualifications and Experience:

Education:

Advanced university degree preferably in medicine, public health, social sciences, humanitarian response, international relations, business, or a related field.

Knowledge and Experience:

10 years of experience in coordinating, developing, and implementing humanitarian interventions in crisis settings; Knowledge of the humanitarian reform process and roles/responsibilities of humanitarian actors; and UNFPA’s role within the IASC Strong analytical, coordination, and organizational skills. Knowledge of UNFPA policies and procedures is a strong asset. Proven ability to lead, manage and coach teams to achieve demonstrable results. Strong interest in development work, especially the mission of the United Nations Population Fund and dedication to the principles of the United Nations; and, Field experience required.

Languages:

Fluency in English; knowledge of other official UN languages and preferably Arabic is desirable.
