The Opportunity

The NBD Manager will contribute to identify and track donor opportunities, support donor engagement, develop fundraising strategies, and provide support to country offices and the regional team in strengthening new business and proposal development. The post holder will develop high quality, rights-based and gender-sensitive proposals for Save the Children based on solid evidence and/or common approaches established by the organization. She/he will assist in writing specific proposal sections and coordinate with technical and other staff to bring together necessary information and resources.

In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly.

In order to be successful you will bring/have:

  • Development professional with a relevant Master's degree or equivalent professional experience.​​​​​​​
  • 3-5 years of experience of successful proposal writing and development, especially with donors related to Save the Children's thematic areas.
  • Excellent program design skills, including capacity to prepare logical, coherent and consistent proposal documents including logical frameworks.
  • Excellent coordination and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and negotiate clearly and effectively at all levels and pull together inputs from a diverse team.
  • Strong results orientation and well-developed analytical skills.
  • Capable to present complex information in a succinct and compelling manner.
  • Excellent English and French writing/editing skills and proven experience in writing proposals, concept notes.
  • Experience in presenting project information to donors and partners.
  • Proven representation skills and ability to adequately represent Save the Children in meetings with donors, partners and international organizations.
  • Experience in training and mentoring others remotely and on-site.
  • Able to work well with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
  • Willingness to travel in the region and to adapt working conditions during emergencies.
  • Fluency in French and English (both mandatory for this position).
  • Excellent organization skills and ability to work effectively with others under tight deadlines.
  • Commitment to Save the Children values, including willingness to abide by and enforce the Child Safeguarding policy.
