POSITION TITLE: GESI Program Officer

REPORTS TO: GESI Manager

JOB SUMMARY

Under the supervision of the GESI Manager, the GESI (Gender Equality and Social Inclusion) Program Officer will perform the day-to-day activities of the project with emphasis on GESI and Grants program activities. The duration of the contract is one year.

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide support to the GESI Manager in:
    • implementing activities aimed at integrating Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) in the programming;
    • training project staff, partners, and stakeholders, on GESI integration and mainstreaming issues, tools, policies, and practices as relate to project objectives;
    • providing GESI-related technical inputs to project reports to the donor and other stakeholders;
    • providing technical coordination and monitoring of GESI-related sub-grants and advocacy initiatives;
    • maintaining regular communication with the donor representatives and other stakeholders.
    • Coordinate a grants program throughout the entire project cycle: reviewing potential grantees’ project description for Program consistency; preparing grant packages of the potential grantees; coordinate and support the implementation of the grants; review grantees’ Progress Reports and deliverables for their compliance to grantees Program Description/Grant Agreement requirements; organize and facilitate online RRG program coordination meetings, joint workshops, and trainings for the awardees.
    • In Coordination with Grants Manager/GESI Manager conduct field visits to monitor activity implementation by grantees, as needed. Prepare reports on the results of field visits to monitor grantee activities.
    • Collect and provide relevant information and data for the Jigerduu Jarandar project Media and Communications Manager and the Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning unit.
    • Provide support to the GESI Manager and GESI Coordinator in conducting training on GESI tools for the JJ project staff and partners.
    • Provide support to the GESI Manager and GESI Coordinator in the implementation of the project GESI Strategy and community-level GESI action plans.
    • Provide daily assistance to the DCOP, GESI and Grants Managers.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

      TYPE AND NATURE OF CONTACTS:

      Frequent interaction with project leaders, administrative, and other staff.

      MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

      • Bachelor's Degree or its International Equivalent in the relevant subject area(s), preferably in gender studies, social work, international development, or community development
      • A minimum of 1-3 years of working experience and technical expertise in gender issues, project management, program, cross-cultural communications, US Government rules and regulations.
      • Demonstrated ability to ensure GESI integration in project design, implementation, and M&E.
      • Articulate and professional and able to communicate in a clear, positive fashion with partners and staff.
      • Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English, Kyrgyz, and Russian.
      • Prior team lead experience preferred.

        • Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining solutions.
        • Networks with key internal and external personnel.

          Less than 15%
