Panagora Group, a small business specializing in global health and international development, seeks a Gender and Youth Specialist for an anticipated 5-year USAID-funded activity entitled, Eliminate Tuberculosis from Ethiopia (ETBE). The goal of the ETBE Activity is to reduce tuberculosis (TB) incidence and mortality by improving the quality, access, utilization and sustainability of TB services.

This position will be located in Addis Ababa and is expected to start in April 2020. The position is contingent upon award.

Responsibilities include:

  • Ensure the USAID Gender Equality and Female Empowerment Policy and ADS 205 are applied throughout the activity
  • Strategize methods to monitor instances of gender disparities and gender-based violence (GBV)
  • Develop and implement gender, youth, and key population sensitive approaches and tools for TB activities
  • Lead sensitization and awareness trainings for the activity staff as well as key local partners
  • Use gender equitable and person-centered approaches in TB activity design and monitoring, including age/sex disaggregated monitoring and reporting
  • Other tasks contributing to meeting gender equity and women’s empowerment targets and goals

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in social science, development studies, gender, or related field; Master’s degree preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working on gender issues.
  • Experience working in Ethiopia
  • Familiarity with TB health sector
  • Demonstrated experience with gender integration in development programming
  • Experience in monitoring and evaluation
  • Prior experience with USAID and ADS 205 highly preferred
  • Proficiency in English required; proficiency in one or more foreign languages preferred
  • Must be a legal resident of Ethiopia
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills required
