DRC aims at developing and managing funding mechanisms that directly contribute to the localization of aid, one of DRC’s key strategic priorities.
Who are we?
The Operational Contract and Grants Section provides expert oversight and support to DRCs country operations in the management and implementation of the various forms of contracts that fund our work. This is a new position as a member of the commercial contract team.
About the job
DRC has taken up the management of a number of donor-supported funding mechanisms as part of our localization agenda. This new modality brings challenges and opportunities for DRC to ensure that we operate these funding mechanisms well and continue to develop and grow this modality. We are looking for an experienced practitioner to lead the policy and process development in conjunction with a number of internal and external stakeholders.
Lead in the development of harmonized operational policies, in coordination with key stakeholders across the organization, to enable DRC to effectively manage donor-supported funding mechanisms. Develop process to implement fund management policy using DRCs Dynamics based ERP system and ensure they are well articulated in DRCs Operations Handbook Work with key stakeholders to develop standard capacity statements to support due diligence assessments. Provide direct support and coordination to DRCs existing donor-supported funding mechanisms to ensure they met donor and partner expectations. Drawing on evaluation and audit reports to identify potential risks and mitigations measures, for inclusion in the Risk management framework, to continuously enhance fund management process and tools. Collaborate with key stakeholders on developing the strategic rationale for donor-supported funding mechanisms as a modality of working within DRC, in alignment with DRC strategic objectives. Assist DRC fund managers and business development teams to pursue new fund management opportunities with institutional donors by providing communication on our expertise to manage Funds with success stories.About you
To be successful in this role we expect you to have an interest in fund management in a humanitarian setting; preferably with experience of policy development for a large international agency and ability to translate policy into effective procedures that will limit risk and enhance response. We also expect you to have an understanding of the localization agenda and its objectives, and experience working with local organizations, especially related compliance issues.

Required
Master’s degree in social science, business management, development studies or similar At least 5 years’ experience of working within the humanitarian sector preferably with NGOs. Extensive experience of donor compliance preferably related to “fund management”. Experience of effective stakeholder engagement related to policy development. Proficient in spoken and written EnglishDesirable
Experience working with a wide range of civil society actors at local and international level. Experience or knowledge of financial policy and process Experience of ERP software preferably Microsoft Dynamics Proficiency in French, Spanish, Arabic or Danish would be an advantage.We offer

Salary and conditions will be in accordance with the agreement between DRC and AC (agreement for academics). This is a national position for which local terms and conditions apply.
