Created in 1993, ACTED is an international non-governmental organization pursuing a dual mandate of emergency response and development interventions in 40 of some of the world’s most vulnerable countries affected by conflicts, disasters or socio-economic hardship. With a team of 7,000 national staff and 400 international staff, ACTED implements 500 projects a year to support more than 20 million beneficiaries, notably in hard-to-reach areas.

ACTED goes to the last mile through programs and approaches that look beyond the immediate emergency towards opportunities for longer term livelihood reconstruction and sustainable development. Guided by the motto “Think Local, Act Global” and its 3Zero –Zero Exclusion, Zero Carbon, and Zero Poverty – strategy, ACTED puts local territories at the centre and provides a tailored support to local needs.

Composed of 120 staff, ACTED’s headquarters are located in Paris to support and mainstream the organization’s interventions worldwide.

You will be in charge of

ACTED decided to create AGORA as a flagship program in 2016 in partnership with IMPACT as a vehicle to practically implement the ambition of both organizations to ground humanitarian and development work in local knowledge to operationalize the ACTED motto “think global, act local”.

AGORA is an initiative that promotes the resilience and recovery of crisis affected people in fragile contexts by putting local territories at the center, supported and guided by local knowledge, structures and capacities. As such, AGORA is designed as a community driven development model to provide concrete solutions to implement the humanitarian-development-peace nexus, the localization and the Accountability to Affected People Agenda.

After piloting the AGORA approach in a number of countries over the last years, ACTED and IMPACT have decided to strengthen and expand their AGORA joint venture, and are recruiting an AGORA intern to reinforce their HQ team.

Building on the AGORA methodology over the last years, you will support the AGORA team along 2 main axis :

Conditions

Monthly salary (legal minimum amount) : 850€ netsFood Vouchers (9€)50% of transportation costs (Navigo pass) taken in charge
