General purpose of the position
To supervise the Food Security activities implemented at field level within the framework of the WFP project, ensuring that activities are delivered following the proposal text agreed upon with the WFP, and that these activities are achieved in a timely and efficient manner.

Tasks and Main Responsibilities
 Supervises field-based Food Security project staff
 Ensures gender and protection mainstreaming protocols are followed during programme
implementation in-line with the project design;
 Coordinates, supervises and manage Food Security distribution, nutrition and protection related
activities at field level.
 Conduct primary level information gathering at the field, which may include Assessment, SCOPE registration, targeting etc.
 Ensures adherence to INTERSOS policies, guidance and procedures at field level by all project
staff;
 Provides monthly activity schedule and progress report to the Food Security Project Manager/
Deputy Project Manager
 Ensures effective needs assessment for the project targets/beneficiaries; people mostly
vulnerable and in need.
 Participates in the development of relevant Food Security monitoring, assessment, verification
processes etc.;
 Identifies capacity building gaps for project staff and skills Development through different
arrangements;
 Implements other tasks as might be required with relation to the INTERSOS Country Program in
Nigeria.
Position Requirements
Professional requirements
 Minimum Degree in Social Sciences, Business Management or relevant field
 Minimum of 5 years in humanitarian work, with 3 years supervising WFP or related project
activities
 Previous nutrition work experience
Personal requirements
 Strong interpersonal and team building skills and excellence as a team player.
 Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, power point presentation etc.)
 Strong sense of responsibility, methodical and accurate with high organizational skills
 Honesty and integrity and able to cope with stressful situations.
 Flexibility & adaptability-Willingness to deploy to the newly liberated local government areas.
 Fluency in English, Kanuri and Hausa will be considered a plus
