We are seeking a Finance Manager to provide leadership in Khartoum, Sudan. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and coordinating all financial and budgetary aspects of the country office. This manager leads their team and is responsible for administrative field accounting, expenditures, bookkeeping and payroll related to the programs and operations for Samaritan's Purse in Sudan. A day in the life of a Finance Manager in Sudan:

In the role of Finance Manager, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Maintain your personal relationship with Jesus Christ and be an effective witness for Him
  • Provide support to Base Managers and/or Program Managers with regard to financial policies and practices and related areas
  • Review and approve financial transactions for field operations (includes vouchers, FERs, Cash Advances, transfers, etc.)
  • Perform daily functions such as recording all cash, check and bank transfer transactions, maintain cash and bank ledgers, monitor cash advances and field expense reports, reconcile cash on hand and monthly bank reconciliation
  • Provide required monthly financial reports to the Country Director and regional leadership
  • Ensure adequate cash flow for operations and safety of financial resources at base
  • Ensure all cash is reconciled on a weekly basis, reporting any over/under to country office and investigate any over/under situations
  • Lead your finance team by providing direction, coordination, and evaluation
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university with an emphasis in accounting or related field of study and 5+ years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • CPA or equivalent certification preferred
  • Financial management experience, particularly in a foreign context, is preferred
  • Experience working with foreign currencies and external grants
  • Above average written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Microsoft Excel
  • Able to manage people and delegate responsibility
  • Able to work in a diplomatic way in adverse and pressure-filled environments
  • Able to encourage and demonstrate concern for the well-being of international and national staff
  • 12 credit hours of college-level Biblical Studies (required)

Language Requirement: English Fluency Required; Arabic a plus

Travel Expectations: Occasional travel to field locations; required travel documents and vaccinations for entry into foreign countries will be necessary
