MIGA Controllers, which is part of MIGA’s Finance and Risk Management Group (MIGFR), is responsible for overseeing MIGA’s financial integrity, income sustainability, and balance sheet optimization through the management and oversight of MIGA’s accounting, financial reporting and control function, asset management and cost efficiency optimization. MIGFR is also accountable for portfolio risk management, State Owned Enterprise (SOE) counterparty risk assessment, reinsurance and syndications program, budget, and information technology strategy and plans, and systems.  

MIGA’s Controllers team is responsible for a range of control functions including (1) MIGA’s Accounting and Financial Reporting, (2) Budget Management and Performance Reporting and (3) Monitoring Internal Controls Over Financial Reporting, and (4) Operational Risk Management functions.

Duties and accountabilities:

A. Accounting & Reporting

Guarantee‐Related Processes

• Processing of guarantee related invoices (fees and premiums)
• Monitoring of overdue premiums
• Processing of reinsurance and guarantee related vendor payments.
• Monitoring of guarantee vendor payable balances.
• Support with issuance and renewal of guarantees.
• Preparation and maintenance of contract‐wise premium spreadsheets.

Financial Reporting

• Generation of monthly Trial Balance.
• Reconciliation of key account balances.
• Inter‐company balance reconciliations.
• Preparation of tables in support of notes to accounts in the Financial Statements.

Share Capital Reporting

• Preparation of members’ capital-related confirmations.

B. Budget Management

Reporting & Monitoring

Handling various day-to-day Resource management functions in support of performance reporting:
• Generating various monitoring reports and highlighting exceptions.
• Generating Monthly reports on Administrative Expenses Status.
• Providing support to various data mining and automation efforts of the Resource Management team as required from time to time.
• Supporting with automating data mining reports for Resource Management, such as Cots of Doing Business (CODB) Analysis, Cost of Work Program Delivery Report.
• Accrual Monitoring report generation.
• Any other ad hoc analysis as may be required.

Execute various Resource management related transactions in SAP including the following:

• Budget transfers.
• Expense Reposts.

Selection Criteria

• Relevant Bachelor’s Degree is desirable (e.g., Finance, Accounting, and Business);  

• Partially qualified Professional Accountants (Intermediate Level) and candidates who have completed their Article ship or Professional training will have an advantage.

• At least 3 years of relevant work experience.  Strong skills in, and thorough familiarity with, Microsoft Excel/PowerPoint, including the ability to use interlinked spreadsheets, and financial models;

• Work experience in using integrated, automated financial or other ERP systems with a comparable level of complexity to SAP R/3 in FI, FM and CO Modules; Knowledge of BPC will be an advantage.

• Sound knowledge of basic accounting and finance, including cost and management accounting;

• Good knowledge of mathematics and strong skills in using and manipulating large sets of numerical data;

• Strong communication skills with the ability to prepare, present, and discuss findings in written and oral form.

Other Selection Criteria:

• Basic knowledge of WBG accounting processes and systems is desirable;

• Familiarity and experience with SAP, BW, Business Objects and SAP BPC would be an advantage;

• Strong skills/ familiarity with VBA, SQL, Crystal Reports, Business Intelligence Reports, Tableau Reporting tools, End to End Process automations with MS Excel based Macros, knowledge of Lean & Six Sigma methodologies will be an advantage.

• Demonstrated ability to learn new technology quickly and effectively for maximum productivity;

• Track record of working collaboratively with others; 

• Ability to work independently, do research and find answers efficiently and ability to identify more complex tasks, which require support;

• Prior experience with helpdesks, experience in preparing technical documentation will be an advantage. 

• Ability to automate simple work-flows to efficiently track the input, process and output statuses.
