Onsur works through the main office is located in Gaziantep’s province Turkey, in addition to execution offices in: Syria (Aleppo, Idlib, Rural Damascus), Lebanon (Saida, Arsal), and Iraq (Erbil – under construction)

JOB SUMMARY

The Finance Assistant is responsible for assisting in the application of financial policies and procedures, and the conduct and processing cash transactions.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

In charge of the correct implementation of Onsur procurement guideline; the applicant will be responsible for the following:

  • Ensure the financial transactions and the supporting documents are adherent to the financial policies and procedures as well as;
  • Maintain custody of the office cash fund and make daily payments of approved transactions;
  • Prepare photocopies of vouchers and other supporting documents as required for the monthly reporting package to finance Manager;
  • Perform daily cash count with the Senior Finance Officer;
  • Prepare cash payment vouchers and ensure that all cash transactions are fully and properly documented;
  • Record payment vouchers daily in the cash sub journal;
  • Maintain the uncleared cash advance file and prepare past due advance report for the Finance Manager;
  • Prepare bank payment vouchers and ensure that all bank transactions are properly and fully documented;
  • Review expense reports (travel expense reports and operational expense reports) for accuracy and completeness and ensure that expense reports have been fully approved before payment;
  • File all cash and bank vouchers and maintain voucher filing system such that files are updated, complete and safeguarded;
  • Conduct himself/herself both professionally and personally in such a manner as to bring credit to ………. and to not jeopardize its humanitarian mission;
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Is a Turkish or Syrian national (Turkish National is preferable).
  • Degree in Economy or related field is desired.
  • More than 1 year cognate experience is desired.
  • Excellent financial planning, management, and coordination skills, with the ability to organize a demanding workload comprised of diverse and challenging tasks and responsibilities
  • Computer literate (i.e. WORD, advanced Excel, Outlook, Internet Explorer, financial systems).
  • Demonstrable knowledge in office administration.
  • Strong organizational skills; ability to interact effectively with international and national personnel.
  • Excellent oral and written Arabic, Turkish and English skills.
  • Organized and able to independently manage multiple tasks under strict deadlines.
  • A clear understanding of procurement ethics and donor compliance is essential.
