Winrock is seeking candidates for a Finance and Accounting Assistant to implement day-to-day financial aspects of the USAID Improved Access to Safe Drinking Water in Liberia Activity Link. The USAID/Liberia-funded Activity will strengthen water sector governance, create scalable models for equitable water service delivery, and mobilize collaborative action to improve access to clean water services. The purpose of the project is to move Liberians in Montserrado and Margibi counties to a basic level of water services. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES Major Responsibilities Conduct daily financial tasks, including preparing vouchers, reviewing receipts and other documentation, processing cash and bank payments, reviewing expense reports, preparing monthly payroll, reconciling accounts, and other accounting duties Assists with monthly and quarterly field financial reports Maintain adequate financial and administrative records and documents including payroll/timesheets and personnel Manage petty cash accounts Track and maintain VAT documentation Support the finance team efforts in ensuring project adherence to local laws, USAID regulations, and project contract POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Education: B.S. or equivalent university degree in accounting. Experience: The ideal candidate will have the following experience: At least 2 years of experience in accounting of donor-funded programs (USAID experience strongly preferred) Familiarity with the USAID procurement process strongly desired Computer/Technical Skills: Excellent computer software skills in MS Excel and Word Language: Excellent communication skills, both oral and written with fluency in English required Salary: The annual salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. *Only Liberian Citizens are eligible to apply for this role.
