Job Description:**

Job Title: Finance and Accountant Manager /CFO

Type of Contract: Full-time position - 1-year (possibility of extension), m/c level

Department: Finance

Location: Chiang Mai or Bangkok, Thailand

Expected Start Date: ASAP

Responsibilities of the advertised position:**

BDF is seeking a new staff member to manage Finance and Accounting activities in the Foundation. The position will work under direct supervision of the BDF Senior Management team. The main responsibilities of this role will include the following:

Role and responsibilities include - but are not restricted to:**

1. Financial Management**

● Provide strategic recommendations to the executive management team

● Together with the Finance Team, draft policies and procedures to ensure efficient, transparent and ethical standards in the handling of finances within BDF

● Ensure that all legal requirements are met throughout all financial processes

● Support in preparing tax and social security documents and procedures

● Develop relations with donors / partners to support transparent communication on financials and long term partnerships

● Support in the financials (policy, procedures, accounting) related to Dao Ethical Gift Company, a social enterprise initiative launched to support Baan Dek Foundation

2, Accounting

● Supervise and support the Finance Team in handling the Foundation's petty cash. This includes the disbursement of advances and reimbursements of cash to staff

● Ensure formal cash disbursal requirements are fulfilled as defined in the financial policies

● Handle the Foundation's incoming cash donations

● Ensure financial practices are aligned to Thai Law and have transparent ethical standards

● Accurately record all expenses into the petty cash register

● Maintain the accounts for all payments made and liaise with staff and suppliers as necessary

3. Reporting and Budgeting**

● Manage the processes for financial forecasting and budgets, and oversee the preparation of all financial reporting with the relevant staff members

● Prepare financial budgets for proposals to donors

● Prepare financial reports for donors and internal use

4. Other Support**:**

● Review the periodical accounting related to Dao to ensure consistency and transparency throughout the process. ( sometime)

● Support periodical updates of the Foundation’s fixed assets (related to Dao) and the related required mechanisms to ensure full transparency and sound management

● Periodically join finance meetings

5. Support Administration & Human Resource Department**:**

● Support the Director of HR and Public Relations and work with Admin team to develop general administrative processes and related procedures

● Facilitate communication on financial procedure with the team and with external partners / institutions

6. Support implementation of local programs developed by Baan Dek Foundation**

● Train staff on financial and accounting processes and related procedures

● Whenever relevant, run financial and accounting training with beneficiaries that is designed to support mostly migrant communities working on construction sites

7. Support the management team in day**-**to**-**day missions and projects**

Qualifications

Nationality:** Thai.

Language:** Native Thai, fluent spoken and written English is an important requirement

Education / Experience:** Experience related to accountancy or finance

● Degree (Bachelor degree or equivalent) in a relevant Finance and Accountancy field is a minimum requirement

● Officially registered as accountant or auditor in Thailand (or able to register)

● Experience of managing and maintaining finance systems and procedures

● Skilled in cash management (accounting and cash transaction)

● Knowledge of current international accounting, procedures, standards and financial issues considered an asset

● Skill in preparing and maintaining accurate accounting records, financial statements and budgets considered an asset
