*The Role

Oxfam International Secretariat is looking for an Executive Director for Oxfam in the Pacific

The Executive Director will lead the application and preparations of Oxfam in the Pacific (OiP) to become an independent Affiliate within the Oxfam Confederation. The Executive Director will provide leadership in the establishment of Oxfam Pacific as a regional Affiliate within the global Oxfam confederation and drive the implementation of the Pacific Regional Strategy 2020-2030. With the vision set under the Regional Strategy, Oxfam in the Pacific is in the process of embedding a shift from a country-based to cross-regional, multi-country programming model. Under this shift, the Executive Director is a set-up style and system orientated person with a strong ability to translate vision and strategy into concrete action.

*Who we’re looking for:

A visionary, strategist, self-aware and dynamic leader with traceable senior leadership experience in managing and motivating multi-disciplinary, multicultural and geographically remote teams, crisis management leadership, managing complex change processes and relationships involving a wide range of both internal and external multi-cultural stakeholder as well as experience of managing security, risk and legal compliance, preferably within an INGO or regional organisation context. The Executive Director should have understanding and knowledge of the politics, economics, cultural dynamics and political context of the Pacific Islands within the region and the ability to drive the organisation as a convenor, broker and using the facilitator approach with decision makers in government, regional organisations, INGOs, the Private Sector, media and with pivotal figures in society.
