Who are we?

The office of the Secretary General is a small team, supporting the Secretary General, the Executive Management Team, the Executive Committee and Council of DRC. It is the place where overall planning of and support to meetings in the Executive Management Team and governance bodies of the organisation happens. The office also supports DRC’s overall organisational processes and its overall strategy, as well as provides management and administrative support to the Secretary General and organises global meetings. The office works and coordinates closely with departments in headquarters and offices in +40 countries across the globe.

About the job

The EA is responsible for and gives support to and advises on leadership communication to the Secretary General (SG) towards the organisation and coordinates and gives management and administrative support to the SG. The EA is the go-to person for the organisation on leadership communication and administrative tasks handled by the Secretary General’s office. The EA will have the following main responsibilities:

Advise and support to the SG on leadership communication and management of the DRC global Management site. Prepare presentations and speeches to the SG in corporation with colleagues in the organisation and in coordination with the Senior Public Affairs Advisor, supporting the SG in political advocacy. Organise and prepare meetings of the Executive Management Team, including agendas, presentations, decision-making documents, minutes, follow-up on action points, and document and communicate decisions. Elaborate agendas for the monthly global staff meetings and coordinate input for the presentations at the meetings, and logistical support. Coordinate the yearly meeting of the DRC Council and handle contact to DRC’s member organisations. Manages the agenda for the SG on a day-to-day basis: Internal and external meetings, travels arrangements, incl. assist in preparing for the meetings. Manage SG’s e-mails in the absence of the SG or as required.

About you

To be successful in this role we expect you to have:

A relevant degree. Most probably you have a university degree, but it is not an absolute requirement. Experience from working in a large, global organisation or company (3+ years) Expertise in working with leadership communication, leadership presentations and speech writing (3+ years) Strong writing skills in English and Danish Excellent analytical and organisational skills, and an ability to maintain overview Strong interpersonal skills and a proactive, service-minded and flexible attitude Advanced IT and technical know-how in Office 365 and other platforms of communication Experience with intranet (preferable Microsoft SharePoint) (1+ years)
