Adherence to NRC policies, guidance and procedures;
Responsible to implement delegated technical portfolio of emergency projects (need assessments with protection focus, survival kit distribution, etc) as delegated from Project Coordinator in line with proposals, strategies and donor requirements, and ensure high technical quality;
Promote and share ideas for improvement and necessary changes in the activities;
Ensure capacity building of project staff and transfer key skills to assistants.
Promote the rights of IDPs in line with the advocacy strategy
Strengthen NRC’s protection response in Mueda and neighbouring districts
Support humanitarian surveillance activities by building networks of informants, document information and share it according to standard operating procedures of the Rapid Response Mechanism
Providing technical support and leadership to partners and communities implementing Emergency Response activities. This includes ensuring compliance with relevant minimum standards and collaborative engagement with the technical team in developing minimum technical standards, SOPs and guidance
Conduct community engagement and mobilisation activities
Support activities of other core competency teams as needed and instructed by the Project Coordinator (Shelter, Education in Emergency, Livelihood & Food Security etc.
Desirable minimum 3 years of experience of project implementation in the humanitarian sector with proven experience on technical and managerial skills.
A clear understanding of protection issues, legal frameworks and professional standards in humanitarian and displacement contexts
Experience from working in complex and volatile contexts;
Experience in emergency response activities
Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities;
Knowledge about own leadership skills/profile;
Fluency in Portuguese, English is desirable
Fluency in a relevant local language (Makonde, Emakhuwa etc.) is an asset
