NRC Mali was established in 2013 and is currently implementing RRM, Education, Food Security and Livelihoods, Shelter and Wash, Protection, Humanitarian Mediation, and Information, Counselling and Legal Assistance (ICLA) projects in the central and northern provinces of the country. The operational contexts always present significant legal protection needs for vulnerable displaced populations and host communities, in terms of their access to civil documentation and housing, land and property rights. The purpose of the Education Program Specialist is to develop and ensure implementation of Education high quality program.

Roles and Responsibilities

  1. Develop Education strategy, technical guidance and Macro LFAs
  2. Compliance with and adherence to NRC policies, guidance and procedures
  3. Contribute to fundraising, develop and revise funding proposal, budgets and donor reports
  4. Identify trends technical standards and donor priorities
  5. Follow up on compliance with contractual commitments within Education; ensure high technical quality and synergies in project implementation
  6. Provide technical direction and project implementation support
  7. Ensure Education programs evolves to remain relevant to the changing context
  8. Ensure that Education programs address both programmatic and relevant policy issues
  9. Ensure harmonization and consistency across education projects implemented
  10. Ensure appropriate assessments and needs analyses
  11. Ensure Strategic project / programme planning, resource mobilisation (including contributing to proposal writing/development, project reviews, budgets) and revising the project/programme as necessary throughout the project and programme life cycles
  12. Consolidate and develop internal and external reports and other materials;

Qualifications

  • Minimum 4 years of experience within education technical expertise area in a humanitarian/ recovery context
  • Experience from working in complex and volatile contexts
  • Education expertise: development of strategy, capacity building, quality
  • Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
  • Knowledge about own leadership skills/profile
  • Fluency in French and English, both written and verbal
