Education in Emergencies Officer
ROLE PURPOSE:
The Education in Emergencies Officer is responsible for planning, implementation & monitoring of education related activities in the respective area as per Project SiNDAO. To facilitate the delivery of project activities and to ensure the timely implementation of plans in the most effective, efficient, and professional manner. This will entail the direct support and management of the team and external consultant. More specifically, incumbent is expected to ensure quality & cost effectiveness of program through community mobilization and application of existing standards & policies.
The Officer will provide coordination internally with Programmes and other departments and externally with other humanitarian organisations, government departments, and communities where required. The Officer will be responsible for providing regular reports and updates and ensure monitoring and management of the budget of the project.
He/she will be the on-site representative of Save the Children in courtesy meetings/planning with key stakeholders and for barangay officials and the community at large.
The Project Officer represents Save the Children in communities and with stakeholders, e.g. community leaders, representatives from donors, government, and other agencies as required.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
Essential
With BS or Master's Degree on Education or with experience in humanitarian and developmental work
Organisation, management and negotiation skills
LET board passer
Good communication skills
Previous experience in humanitarian setting
Prepared to work under pressure
Honest and motivated
Knowledge of case management
Capable to provide case management training to para-social workers.
Previous experience working with humanitarian organizations
Able to use Microsoft Office (Excel, Word etc)
Desirable
good English speaking and writing
Contract Length: Fixed Term position until December 2021 based in Iligan City
