As a member of the Senior Management Team, you will provide leadership in strategic, management and operational issues and share the overall responsibility for the strategic development and quality of Save the Children’s programs in Vanuatu. You will provide advice, support and technical direction to a dedicated and experienced team to ensure optimum program impact. We don’t shy from new ideas; we need you to stir things up.

Where you come in:
In this full-time, maximum-term position, based in Port Vila, Vanuatu you will play a key role in defining and pursuing the strategic direction of Save the Children programs in Vanuatu. You will ensure the relevance, strategic coherence and impact of our programs for children. You will be part of our International Programs team, team and report to our Country Director, Vanuatu.

You will make an impact by:

  • Overseeing strategic and program development to ensure thematic excellence across all
  • Leading development of evidence-based strategies, programs and projects to strengthen program integration and spearhead advocacy campaigns
  • Ensuring that all learnings, data and results captured are used to inform programming
  • Identifying and nurturing strategic fundraising opportunities
  • Leading collaboration of organisational program development and quality colleagues and thematic advisors to facilitate strategic alignment and maximise synergies

This role requires:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Social Sciences, Community Development or a relevant field
  • Demonstrated experience directing and implementing programs for children
  • Extensive experience across multiple sectors including education; child protection; child rights governance; health & nutrition; food security & livelihoods; emergencies
  • Senior management experience
  • Demonstrated business development experience including stakeholder management in a fundraising and donor context
  • Ability to lead effective collaboration across multiple international geographical locations
