The United Nations Global Service Centre (UNGSC) provides critical Supply Chain, Geospatial, Information and Telecommunications Technologies services and Training to all peacekeeping and special political missions around the world as well as to other UN Offices, Agencies Funds and Programs.
The United Nations Global Service Center (UNGSC) is seeking to hire a Consultant for the digital transformation of the Conference and Learning Centre, Brindisi-Italy.

The outburst of COVID-19 drastically modified the Conference and Training field, by introducing new ways of delivering and attending presentations and learning sessions. For this reason, the Conference and Learning Centre (CLC) started a digitalization process by designing and implementing a hybrid room, which allows participants and presenters to be engaged in activities through the in-person or remote participation. To continue the digitalization process, the CLC is seeking the support of a Consultant to review and get proposals for a complete and cohesive digital transformation of the Centre, which encompasses 3 conference rooms, 4 labs and 8 training rooms, with the ultimate goal of increased connection solutions, versatility, easiness of remote participation, increased client satisfaction and innovation.

The Conference and Learning Centre - Digital Transformation Consultant will work under the direct supervision of the Head of the Conference and Learning Centre, and report to the Chief Central Service.
The consultant shall be responsible for the following duties:

Phase 1:

• Visit the Conference and Learning Centre to document and assess current solutions.
• With the support of the CLC staff, document and evaluate clients’ needs and challenges.
• Liaise with the IT staff to discuss technology related matters, with a focus in ensuring the proposal’s compatibility with existing and planned CLC systems and services.

Phase 2:

• Provide analysis of available technology, and develop a proof-of-concept (POC) project proposal of recommended solutions (at least 2) including associated cost estimations, for the digital transformation of the Conference and Learning Centre. POC to include application in similar environments or businesses. Qualifications/special skills

Academic Qualifications: Advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in computer science, or a related field is required.
A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
Experience: A minimum of ten (10) years progressively responsible experience in computer science or a related field is required.
A minimum of two (2) years of experience in identifying and implementing effective digitalization solutions to digitalize conference and learning environments is required.
Experience in conducting research, evaluating and integrating information from a variety of sources, in order to assess impact on the conference and training environment is desirable.
Language: English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the post advertised, fluency in English (oral and written) is required
