3 Months Duties and Responsibilities

The United Nations Human Settlements Programme, UN-Habitat, is the United Nations agency for
Human Settlements. It is mandated by the UN General Assembly to promote socially and
environmentally sustainable towns and cities with the goal of providing adequate shelter for all. As the
United Nations focal point on human settlements, UN-Habitat will lead advocacy efforts to raise
awareness of sustainable urbanization issues; provide evidence-based policy advice; build capacities.
develop tools, norms and standards based on best practices, work on demonstration projects and
provide assistance to national Governments, local authorities and other public institutions responsible for urban issues.

The Donor Relations and Strategic Resource Partnerships unit, which reports to the Head of the
External relations and Partnerships Branch is responsible for coordinating UN-Habitat's strategic and
operational work on resource mobilization. This includes support for a harmonized decentralized fundraising model, providing tools to help manage and report on non-earmarked income and earmarked contributions, undertaking and supporting donor consultations as well as other activities related to strengthening relations with donors and enhancing predictable funding for UN-Habitat's work on
sustainable urbanization.

PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES
The purpose of this request is to hire an individual contractor to support the Donor Relations and
Resource Partnerships Management unit with the general coordination of the office work, assist with donor intelligence, digital fundraising, social media outreach, assist with donor correspondence such as donor newsletter, support in organizing donor events and meetings.

Under the direct supervision of Director, ESRKID the Individual Contractor will perform the following duties:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assist the Team in the development of agency wide consistent and coherent tools for resource mobilization.
2. Support the Unit digital marketing resource mobilization needs of the unit; assist in social media fundraising campaigns, and social media content
3. Support team with coordinating an online donate button campaign and workplace giving campaign
4. Help to coordinate joint efforts to mobilize resources by conducting donor intelligence research and mapping interests of potential donors.
5. Assist in the preparation of outputs e.g. concept notes and background papers that may be necessary, drafts communications related to these.
6. Support the team in reviewing reports and editing of key documents prepared by team members.
7. Assist in planning and organization of meetings or substantive presentations.
8. Support organization of preparatory material for Donor Relations meetings, e.g. Executive Board Foundations, Private Sector meetings etc.
9. Perform other tasks as required; Qualifications/special skills

Minimum 1 year of office experience in communication is required.Experience in corporate communication and management added advantage.Experience in donor relations related functions is an added advantage.Proficiency in use of Adobe premier pro, In- Design for data design and presentation is an added advantage. Languages

English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this position, fluency in English (both oral and written) is required.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent is required. Additional training in Communication is an advantage.
