Position Overview & Responsibilities:
Reporting to and working predominantly with the design team, the Design & Product Development Intern will support in the development of trend and technique research, design tech packs, product CADs, product image photographing and editing, execution of product development, among other special design projects. In addition to supporting the design and development of the collections, and facilitating the creation of some key sales tools such as line sheets and presentations for potential buyers, the intern will have the opportunity to see a product at various stages in its lifespan by assisting in the sourcing of local materials involving trips to our cooperatives to inspiration shoots.
This internship provides current and recent college graduates with the opportunity to develop key skills and experience in the fashion world while also directly helping artisans in Guatemala develop income opportunities. This position involves collaborative work with our experienced production and design team, our Guatemala and U.S. based staff, and the talented women artisans we serve in Guatemala.
Details:
The position requires a minimum 3 month commitment preferably based out of Guatemala. Otherwise, the position can be based out of New York, US or remotely.
