The purpose of the anticipated USAID Georgia Educating the Future Program is to strengthen the quality and equality of the basic education system in Georgia. The activity will support the Government of Georgia (GoG) in enhancing the quality of pre-service teacher education programs; building the capacity of school administrators as instructional leaders; and strengthening the implementation of decentralization policies with a specific focus on refining the roles and responsibilities of Educational Resource Centers (ERCs) and improving their capacity to support schools. The activity will work towards the following three objectives:

RTI’s International Education Division is seeking a Deputy Chief of Party (DCOP) for the upcoming USAID Georgia Educating the Future Activity. The DCOP will be responsible for overseeing the timely, cost-effective implementation of the project’s technical activities, especially those geared toward strengthening the decentralization of the general education system in Georgia. The DCOP will support the Chief of Party (COP) in ensuring that the Activity’s interventions are planned and implemented in close collaboration with national and regional education authorities to ensure the long-term sustainability of these improvements. The DCOP will also support the COP in ensuring seamless collaboration with project partners, including the Ministry of Education and Science (MoES), project subcontractors, strategic local partners, and the private sector. S/he will act as COP in the COP’s absence.
