The MEL Data Analyst will work closely with projects to analyze and present data in their final reports before closeout and highlight areas of interest for further learning or for new business proposals. This person will also provide organizational and technical assistance in MERL capacity building and outreach activities.

Responsibilities

Work with Team to conduct specialized data analysis initiatives such as social network analyses, creating geospatial models, and analyzing qualitative data. Support capacity building of MERL staff in data analysis and data modeling skills. Promote the use of data for evidence-based project implementation. Support HQ MERL Team in facilitating and overseeing the implementation of project-level data collection and analysis initiatives, including annual surveys. Participate in new business development through the compilation of quantitative data from primary and secondary resources and technical writing for MERL new business narratives. Conduct internal Data Quality Assessments (DQAs) and prepare projects to be ready for external donor DQAs. Participate in technical writing of blogs, white papers etc., and be involved in presentation at international development workshops and conferences. Contribute to ACDI/VOCA technical publications or outreach materials and the review of project documents such as survey tools and assessment of terms of reference. Qualifications

Minimum qualifications include a Master’s degree in Agriculture, Economics, Statistics or another related field and experience with monitoring and evaluation in food security projects, data analysis, data visualization and knowledge management. Additional years of experience will be considered in lieu of advanced degree. Minimum 4 years of relevant work experience. Demonstrated understanding of research design and statistical analysis required. Ability to navigate Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft Access, Power BI, Microsoft Excel, is highly desired. Fluency in English is required. Experience in international development initiatives is desired. Overseas work experience in international development preferred.
