Project Summary:

The Resilient Communities Activity (RCA) activity in Colombia aims to strengthen local systems for enhanced human security conditions and thus mitigate the effects of organized criminal groups and other violent incidents in target locations. It is expected that local capacity-building and sustainable coordination processes among key stakeholder will drive this activity.

Position Summary:

Creative Associates seeks a Crime and Violence Prevention Specialist for an anticipated donor-funded project in Colombia. Under the guidance of the Chief of Party and the Technical Deputy Chief of Party, the Crime and Violence Prevention Specialist supports the strategic direction and technical approach of Colombia RCA's strategy to ensure the successful design and execution of activities and support the strengthening of local systems for enhanced human security. S/he is responsible to identify and engage with strategic partners in the public sector, private sector, communities, Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and development partners to identify opportunities to conceptualize and develop initiatives that will support the implementation of the strategy.

Working with the Technical Leads, the Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist and the Grants Manager, the Specialist ensures that technical interventions meet established performance targets and that grantees/consultants are adhering to the terms and conditions to meet stated objectives. S/he will coordinate with and serve as a technical resource for other members of the RCA program team to ensure the harmonized application of the technical approach and will contribute to regular program reporting. An important part of the role will also be ensuring synergy and collaboration between the Colombia RCA program and ongoing and new initiatives in the target communities.

Reporting & Supervision:

The Crime and Violence Prevention Specialist will report to the Chief of Party.
