International Alert is looking for an exceptional peacebuilding professional to lead its Myanmar country programme. Based in Yangon you will lead and develop Alert’s peacebuilding work in Myanmar, including development of strategic priorities and ensuring these are reflected in programming plans; manage the country programme, supervising partners and ensuring quality control of Alert’s peacebuilding outcomes. You will be managing current initiatives, in the area of gender, peace and security, conflict sensitivity and inclusive natural resource management.

Due to the rapidly changing situation, you will be updating the conflict analysis and revising the country strategic priorities together with a small but dynamic team and our strong national partners.

You will be a proven leader, with the ability to develop strategy, manage staff, and maintain relationships with a wide range of interlocutors. You will have substantial peacebuilding experience, and be able to commission, supervise and ultimately deliver research outputs and data from programme monitoring. You will have a successful track record of successfully managing projects and programmes in difficult operating environments. You will be a strong advocate for gender inclusion with a keen understanding of conflict-affected masculinities.
