PSI Madagascar is one PSI's largest country programs in terms of revenue and health impact. PSI/Madagascar has a solid donor base (USAID, GF, WHP, etc.) and is well-positioned for further growth. The country platform's Malaria and Child Survival programs include integrated and established prevention, diagnostic, and treatment interventions in malaria, diarrheal disease, and pneumonia treatment. FP/RH activities include a wide range of short- and long-term method products and services as well as basic maternal health care services and cervical cancer detection and referral. HIV/STI prevention and treatment activities in this concentrated epidemic include product and communication interventions focused on distinct target audiences: youth and high-risk groups (female sex workers, high-risk men and men having sex with men).
We are looking for a seasoned Country Representative (CR) based in Antananarivo, Madagascar, to lead implementation of PSI's awards, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health (MOH) and other key partners. The CR should have significant management and international experience, a strong operational acumen, proven experience managing large teams in difficult environments. The CR will be a creative and innovative thinker, who enjoys facing challenges with out-of-the-box solutions.

Responsibilities
Your contribution The CR/Madagascar will assume responsibility for the management of the country platform, including strategic, programmatic and operational management and oversight for Madagascar's contract and grant portfolio. S/he will be responsible for achieving a high level of project performance while assuring compliance with regulations across a range of donors and financial/administrative best practices. Within this, the CR/Madagascar will ensure strong subrecipient management, as a key component of grant performance. Specific tasks include:

Experienced manager. You have been a Country Director or Resident Advisor of a large development or relief organization before and based in a challenging operating environment. You can manage a diverse team of professionals to achieve results.
Relationship Builder. You have experience working with Ministries of Health and global health donors. You can spot trends and keep the PSI global headquarters informed about health needs and opportunities in Madagascar. You are diplomatic in cooling down emotionally charged environments. You are agile in your approach, able to quickly recognize, address and mitigate potential conflicts before they arise.
Capacity Builder. You have experience in building technical, management and leadership capacity.
Collaborative manager. You can inspire a shared vision for the PSI/Madagascar staff. You have successfully helped your staff learn, grow, and thrive in their work. You know how to bridge communications and goals between the field office and headquarters, so that in-country operations and institutional goals are constantly aligned.
