In 2020, CHAI assembled a team on the ground in Bamako and provided strategic and operational support on the primary health care reform in Mali that was announced by former President Keita in early 2019. Under a very complex political and health system conditions, CHAI provides continuous support to the Ministry of Health to develop national policies and carry out health system strengthening activities. As the Mali programs are relatively new, the Country Manager will play a critical role in shaping CHAI support to the Ministry of Health by establishing strong in-country foundations. This includes building strategic relationships with the government and other partners as well as setting up programs and operationalizing them.
The Country Manager will lead and provide operational and programmatic support and guidance to the CHAI Mali team – who is embedded as technical assistance within the Ministry of Health – and help shape future opportunities for the country programs.
