· Do you have significant successful, senior leadership experience in the development and delivery of high-quality program, influencing and humanitarian strategy, with and through partners or directly, in one or more challenging locations.

· Do you have a proven track record of managing, leading and empowering multi-disciplinary, diverse teams and operational units (IT, finance, security)?

The Role

In Tunisia, the threats to people living in poverty and to human rights are many, varied, and complex.

Oxfam’s vision for Tunisia is a country where citizens address socio- economic and gender inequalities within the context of a state that is responsive and transparent. Women, youth and vulnerable groups are the main change agents in projects related to governance of socio-economic policies both at local and national levels, space for civil society, gender justice and economic justice.

The Country Director will be responsible, with support from affiliates and Regional Platform to implement Oxfam’s vision which aims to create a stronger Oxfam that is globally coordinated and relevant in every country in which we work.

The Country Director will contribute to and implement Oxfam’s Global strategy, by providing vision and strategic direction to all of Oxfam’s work in the Country. This includes Oxfam’s humanitarian responses, long term development program design and implementation, advocacy and policy and influencing. They will be responsible and accountable for the strategic direction and effective management of the Country, ensuring development, continued improvement in quality and impact, and effective financial and human resource management in line with Oxfam Policy

What we are looking for

In order to help drive and deliver this ambitious vision in Tunisia we are currently seeking an outstanding and distinctive Country Director. This leader will have demonstrable strategic and creative leadership, management and coordination skills in a network setting, a multi-cultural worldview and understand the systemic challenges and strengths of being a global organization.

Excellent communication skills, including fluency in French and English are essential. Fluency in written and spoken Arabic is highly desirable.
