Mobile Info Team is determined to work towards a future where asylum seekers and refugees in Greece have fair access to asylum and are treated with the respect their humanity deserves. We assist families and individual asylum seekers by providing dedicated, long-term support during their asylum and family reunification cases. We research legal and political developments relevant to migrants in Greece and Europe and disseminate information through our daily hotline and Facebook page (www.facebook.com/mobileinfoteam)). We attend community centres and refugee camps to provide up to date information on the asylum process. We also provide advocacy at different levels, including collecting testimonies on human rights abuses such as illegal push backs.

This is an excellent opportunity to help manage a well established team who have been providing support in Northern Greece for over 4 years. You will become the centre of the team and will be highly influential in the direction the organisation takes.

What we are looking for:

A proactive, enthusiastic, strategic supporter of social justice that has experience in project management, coordination and on-the-ground humanitarian/NGO service delivery in the refugee sector.

The coordinator is responsible for seeing the ‘big picture’ of the team’s overall operations and making sure that everyone is working in harmony to achieve this goal. To this end, the coordinator should be an effective communicator in order to check-in with each team member, integrate this into the overall ethos of the team, and help facilitate communication between us all. This requires making support available and becoming a point of reference for not only the volunteers, but also for the director, advocacy officer, and external partners. It is also essential for the coordinator to have the initiative to develop systems and procedures to standardize MIT’s internal processes.

Main Objective

The coordinator is a crucial role for the overall project management. They ensure the smooth implementation of all MIT activities; supervises and coordinates the day-by-day activities of caseworkers and program areas of MIT and prepare written materials and progress reports on the MIT activities. They contribute to effective and timely completion of MIT activities, delivery of quality outputs and achievement of outcomes with maximum impact for beneficiaries.

Duties and Responsibilities

Project Management

· Identify and manage potential risks and liabilities of multiple projects

· Create long- and short-term plans, including setting targets for milestones, adhering to deadlines and allocating resources

· Manage and oversee the administrative side of operations

. Coordinate and implement day to day activities, ensuring that technical quality and standards are respected

. Provide regular and timely updates on progress and challenges to the Director and other team members

Human Resources

. Ensure program and support staff undertake their duties and abide by HR policies**

. Follow-up the work plans and day-to-day activities of the field staff (caseworkers and translators)

. Manage the project staff in coordination with the Director

. Ensure a positive working environment and good team dynamics among the MIT staff

. Ensure capacity building among staff

. Ensure staff awareness of, and respect of MIT’s code of conduct and safeguarding procedures

External Coordination

· Liaise with other actors and stakeholders operating in the field, attend meetings and contribute to the overall grassroots intervention in response to the crisis

· Promote, build, maintain and develop relationships with partners.

. Identify opportunities to collaborate and coordinate efforts with other organizations

. Participate in external coordination meetings as and when required

Skills and Experience:

· Minimum 2 years’ experience in project management, team supervision and coordination or operations

· Knowledge of organizational development and team building

· Ability to design and implement programmatic and human resources structures

· Familiar with on-the-ground humanitarian/NGO service delivery

· Adept at working in variable context, comfortable with unpredictability

· Strong inter-personal skills, attune to group dynamics and emotions

· Prior fundraising experience

· Highly organized individual with interest in making and sustaining systems for reporting, line management and service delivery

· Willingness to relocate to Thesslaoniki, Greece

Commitment:
