WWF-Myanmar is now inviting applications for Consultant for Gender Analysis, Gender Mainstreaming Strategy and Gender Action Plan in Ayeyarwady Delta who will be worked workingstarting for three months by home-based with field travels in Myanmar.

Objective of the consultancy

The overall objective of the consultancy is to provide a framework for gender mainstreaming and respective actions that ensure that both men and women of all ages have the opportunity to equally participate in, and benefit from, our conservation projects. The framework shall consist of a Gender Analysis, a Gender Mainstreaming Strategy (GMS) and a Gender Action Plan (GAP). The Gender Analysis will collect gender-specific data that will lead to gaining knowledge on decision making processes among women and men at the community level, their access to, ownership of and control over the management of natural resources and the types of resources, their financial and productive capital resources, their access to services and markets etc. The GMS documents gender differences in needs, opportunities, and capacities related to the project. The GAP outlines specific actions that will be taken within the project to ensure that both men and women have the opportunity to equally participate in, and benefit from, the project.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in evaluation and/or conducting socio-economic surveys with at least one experience in gender-related work;
  • Previous experience and good comprehension of the local context where the survey will be conducted;
  • Knowledge of the local language in the survey area;
  • A set of available documents and examples of previous similar work accomplished, to provide to the selection committee
  • English language proficiency;
  • In-country or regional experience
