The Opportunity

The Case worker is a member of the Shirqat Sub Office- Child Protection team. Under the supervision of the CM Officer, the case worker is responsible for implementing activities focused on case management services for both first and second line response. She/he will ensure that project activities are consistent with Save the Children's programming principles and approaches, draw on relevant best practices and lessons learned, enable children to attain their rights and are compliant with donor regulations.
In order to be successful you will bring/have:

* Understanding of social welfare systems and child protection mechanisms
* Ability to write weekly and monthly reports
* Ability to work under pressure and willingness to work flexible hours when necessary.
* Commitment to and understanding of Save the Children's aims, values and principles including rights-based approaches
* Knowledge and understanding of inter-agency standards and guidelines in child protection, including the Minimum Standards for Child Protection in Humanitarian Action.

Essential
* Experience working in child protection with children and families
* Strong interpersonal skills, ethical sensitivity and ability to empathise with children and their carers
* Experience in community mobilisation and conducting outreach activities
* Understanding of social welfare systems and child protection mechanisms
* Good communication skills with fluency in written and spoken English, Kurdish and Arabic
* Ability to write weekly and monthly reports
* Ability to work under pressure and willingness to work flexible hours when necessary.
* Commitment to and understanding of Save the Children's aims, values and principles including rights-based approaches
Desirable
* Experience in working in child protection case management
* Knowledge and understanding of inter-agency standards and guidelines in child protection, including the Minimum Standards for Child Protection in Humanitarian Action.
