Overview of the Functions of the Post\n\n

The\nUnit of Partnership and Communication ensures that ICCROM projects a\ncompelling, coherent and consistent message to the world. It engages with\nMember States, partners, professional communities and other stakeholders to\nhelp foster public, political and financial support. In coordination with units\nacross the Organization, it works to position ICCROM as a reliable leader in\ncapacity building and knowledge advancement in heritage conservation. Its\noutreach, both online and offline is important for ICCROM's engagement with\nstakeholders.\n\n

 ICCROM\nseeks a professional who will enhance the reputation and visibility of ICCROM by\ndevising and delivering a communications strategy which ensures maximum impact\nand engagement to our external stakeholders.\n\n

 Key Accountabilities\n\n

The Communications Officer will work at ICCROM's Partnership and\nCommunication Unit and report to the Unit Manager. The post is based at ICCROMHeadquarters,\nRome (Italy). Within delegated authority, the Communications Officer will be\nresponsible for the following duties:\n\n

 1.     Develop\nand manage communications in a way that contributes to the overall Strategic\nDirections and delivers impact and awareness to our audiences, across multiple\nchannels in a way that promotes ICCROM as a centre of excellence.\n\n

2.     Build\nand execute the digital communications strategy (website, social media, and\ndigital marketing) through market research, platform determination, benchmarking,\naudience identification and messaging.\n\n

3.     Supervision\nof all multi-channel products and materials (both online and offline) to ensure\nthe look and feel of ICCROM, including tone of voice. Ensure that high-quality\ncommunications, promotions and materials are issued in a timely manner in all\nof the applicable languages.\n\n\n

4.     \nGenerate, edit, publish\n and share daily content (photo, text and video) that builds meaningful\n connections in order to enhance digital engagement, brand awareness and online\n reputation.\n\n\n

5.     \nCoordinate, direct,\nfacilitate, evaluate and recognize officeperformance; create an\nenabling environment and assist team members to realize and develop their\npotential.\n\n

 Required qualifications:\n\n

1.     \nEducation\n\n

·       \nAdvanced university\ndegree in communication and marketing, journalism, international relations, or\nrelated discipline is required.\n\n

·       \nSpecializations or\ncertificates in digital media, PR, marketing, or communications for the culture\nor public sector are a plus.\n\n

2.     \nWork experience\n\n

·       \nMinimum of three (3)\nyears of relevant professional experience in the communication field with\nsimilar tasks, of which preferably one (1) year acquired at the international\nlevel.\n\n

·       \nExtensive and relevant experience\nin managing international communications and awareness projects and activities,\npreferably in the field of cultural heritage.\n\n

·       \nDemonstrated ability to\nmake a complex story impactful and accessible together with proven ability to\nthink ahead, engage proactively and take initiative.\n\n

·       \nPrevious experience in\nmanaging work teams.\n\n

 3.     \nSkills and knowledge\n\n

·       \nExcellent knowledge in\npromoting a wide range of content of interest to a diverse range of cultural\nprofessionals and international audiences on digital and traditional platforms,\nowned and earned; establishing effective lines of communication with\npartnership organizations, government agencies and diplomatic missions, and\nheritage opinion leaders.\n\n

·       \nExcellent knowledge in\nmanaging complex and multilingual Content Management Systems, especially\nDrupal; good knowledge of social media management and platforms, digital\nmarketing applications (e.g. Google Adwords, Facebook Ads), SEO, PR databases,\nCRM, graphic design and video editing.\n\n

·       \nDemonstrated proficiency\nin using web analytic tools (e.g. Google Analytics), databases and data\ngathering, as well as producing corporate reports that are attractive, engaging\nand of high quality.\n\n

·       \nDeep understanding of\nnational and international political and cultural heritage trends, together\nwith an understanding of the terminology used within the field.\n\n

·       \nComfort with data and\nresearch to drive efforts.\n\n

 4.     Competencies\n\n

·       \nProject management:\nability to develop clear, workable plans and establish the key, cost-effective\ncontributions to ensure impact.\n\n

·       \nExcellent communication\nskills, both written and verbal, with the ability to\npresent complex information clearly and concisely to various audiences.\n\n

·       \nAnalysis and decision\nmaking: diagnose problems, provide innovative solutions and make logical,\ntimely decisions.\n\n

·       \nAbility to work in a multi-cultural\nenvironment with appropriate sensitivity to differences of culture, gender and\nphysical ability; commitment to ICCROM values and ICSC standards.\n\n

 \n\n

5.     \nLanguages\n\n

·       \nEnglish and French are\nthe working languages of ICCROM. This position requires fluency in English\n(both oral and written). The knowledge of Arabic, Italian and Spanish and any\nother language is an added advantage.\n\n

 Remuneration\n\n
