About the project

It is a very exciting time for Leonard Cheshire’s International Team with our ambitious but well-planned growth strategy beginning to gain momentum. We are looking for people to join us on this journey of growth.

Leonard Cheshire’s leading a consortium to deliver an innovative programme to increase access to employment for people with disabilities in low and middle-income settings.

The project based in Bangladesh and Kenya is designed to develop, test, validate, and share learning from interventions that will directly improve access to waged employment in the private sector for women and men with disabilities. It will demonstrate the potential for change by identifying the most successful interventions that strengthen the disability ecosystem.

About You

You will lead on the development and delivery of the i2i communications strategy, contributing to our influencing and policy agenda. You will develop communication materials on inclusive employment and disability and support the development and publication of policy resources.

You will work with our communications, digital and marketing colleagues, as well as with the i2i consortium partners to implement the communications strategy, designing and developing creative and impactful communication and marketing products that would include beneficiary stories, presentations, media and other briefings.

You will work with the project’s monitoring and evaluations manager as well as the consortium partners to build the evidence in disability-inclusive development and employment by identifying lessons learnt.

You will be educated to degree level or equivalent in a related discipline, eg. communications, journalism, public policy, international development or disability, along with significant professional experience in a related discipline.

You will have experience in working collaboratively and in partnerships on multi country initiatives.

You will bring your highly developed written and verbal communications skills and be able to plan the development of high quality, impactful content. You will be able to work in a culturally sensitive manner and be able to develop creative ideas and transform them into practical reality.
